Morpheus Network selected as Supply Chain Partner for European Blockchain Sandbox

Morpheus.Network, a leading Canadian company specializing in supply chain management and blockchain technology, proudly announces its acceptance into the second cohort of the European Blockchain Sandbox (EBSI). The selection process, curated by blockchain experts and overseen by a panel of independent academics, highlights the potential of Morpheus.Network’s solutions.

In collaboration with ReLOG3P, an Italian startup specializing in global trade, freight logistics, supply chains, mobility, and transport industries, Morpheus.Network aims to support the UN Agenda 2030 and the EU’s sustainability goals.

The partnership focuses on creating a fully automated certificate management system designed to replace cumbersome manual processes with efficient digital solutions. Utilizing distributed ledger technology (DLT), the system ensures trust in certificates and verifiable data for fair trade and sustainability standards, countering fraud and plagiarism.

“Joining this esteemed accelerator programme allows us to proactively use our technology for the benefit of wider society, which is critical for our company objectives,” says Dan Weinberger, CEO and Co-Founder of Morpheus Network. “With our robust solutions, we can identify non-compliant suppliers, issue proactive alerts of certificate expirations, and integrate with authorities to manage digital trails for each supplier.”

Innovative Certificate Management System

Morpheus.Network has developed a fully automated Certificate Management System, designed as a flexible and scalable middleware for easy integration across various supply chain participants.

This system scans, validates, processes, and tracks documents seamlessly, featuring a self-service portal integrated with a document handling database. This portal simplifies collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring the integrity of sensitive documents, particularly in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. Each certificate is uniquely identified and recorded on a blockchain backend, providing trust and traceability.

Enhanced Supply Chain Solutions

Morpheus.Network’s DLT framework guarantees data integrity, security, and permanence throughout the supply chain. The solution provides real-time tracking and visibility as products progress, forming an unchangeable audit trail. This enhances transparency and efficiency for all stakeholders involved, automating the collection and management of documents from over 100 suppliers. The digital transformation reduces supply chain operating costs, such as delays and fines, and improves stock turnover and working capital requirements.

“Since 2018, Morpheus Network has provided innovative and intuitive solutions for supply chain management. Our commitment to helping our customers replace manual processes with secure technologies such as DLT makes this an important milestone for us,” says Weinberger. “With this partnership, suppliers benefit from enhanced transparency and efficiency, while supporting sustainability and compliance initiatives.”

Stefano Negrini, Founder & Principal of ReLOG3P, underscores the growing need for transparency in global trade. “Whether it is about fake news, fake declarations, or missing information on child labor, the lack of transparency has already had a huge impact at all levels,” he says. “We started our journey with ReLOG3P in 2021 to increase transparency, trustworthiness, and traceability in global trade. We are proud of the solution proposed by our partners and friends in Italy that will help achieve the UN goals and EU sustainability targets.”

Negrini adds, “We are convinced that the combination of their DLT and our SRL® – SDG Readiness Level – tools will support partners and customers in coping with this high demand for transparency within the entire, global supply chain.”

Other European Sandbox Participants

The European Commission recently announced the selection of Iota’s Web3 Identification solution for the current edition of the EBSI. Among the chosen participants are Iota, known for its open-source distributed ledger and cryptocurrency ecosystem, Trrue, RealEstate.Exchange (REX) DigiShares, DoxyChain, Hacken, and Origintrail. Each project will benefit from a controlled environment for testing and validation, and opportunities to engage directly with regulators from across the European Union.

The EBSI, launched by the European Commission in 2023, serves as a testing ground for DLT solutions across multiple industries, fostering innovation and regulatory discussions essential for the evolving landscape of decentralized finance (DeFi).

The inclusion of these diverse projects signifies a significant step towards integrating blockchain technology in various sectors, promoting transparency, efficiency, and compliance on a global scale.
