MCMC’s MetaHRise Makes History With Record-Breaking Metaverse Induction Award

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has been honoured by the Malaysia Book of Records for its groundbreaking “First Multiplayer Metaverse Induction Programme,” known as MetaHRise. This pioneering digital initiative is set to revolutionise the onboarding process for new employees at the Commission.

The recognition was awarded during a ceremony attended by YBhg. Tan Sri Mohamad Salim bin Fateh Din, Executive Chairman of MCMC, and Mr. Jwan Heah, Chief Operating Officer of the Malaysia Book of Records, alongside other key representatives from both organisations.

MetaHRise, which launched in February 2024, redefines traditional human resources practices by providing new hires with an engaging and interactive introduction to their roles at MCMC. The programme offers an immersive experience that covers the Commission’s functions, regulatory activities, and various initiatives.

A standout feature of MetaHRise is the Connect Hub, a virtual learning space designed to enhance educational access and training for MCMC employees. The programme also incorporates gamification elements to strengthen team-building, featuring activities that test knowledge, promote teamwork, and elevate employee engagement.

In just a few months since its launch, MetaHRise has gained significant traction, earning MCMC the title of “Transformative Agency of The Year” at the Festival of Innovation Awards 2024 hosted by GovInsider. This accolade underscores MCMC’s dedication to digital innovation and its continuous efforts to enhance operational efficiency and employee engagement.
