“While scams have always been a threat to financial well-being, technological change is making them ever more difficult to address,” stated Levine in a news release. “Join us to discuss where we are headed when it comes to hackers, scammers, and artificial intelligence. We will be getting into the weeds in terms of what we’re facing, what law enforcement and civil litigation can accomplish, and what we can do to protect ourselves.”

Levine has been working as an attorney on elder law and abuse cases for over 20 years. Levine became executive director in 2021 and has been focusing on technology, scams, and elder abuse. Levine has also been prioritizing partnerships with law enforcement and other stakeholders, to improve outcomes for vulnerable seniors.

Logan is an attorney with Elder Law & Advocacy, where he focuses on predatory lending, scams, nursing home, and other consumer protection litigation. He previously led Elder Law’s Elder Abuse Restraining Order Program. Before joining Elder Law, he worked on debt collection defense and solar panel fraud cases on the Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Consumer Team.

The Solana Beach Library is located at 157 Stevens Avenue, Solana Beach, 92075. The event and parking are free.
